When Eustace Grubbe built this house in 1912, it lay outside City limits and was surrounded by empty fields and was accessed by a dirt track. Architectural features of the house point to the Arts and Crafts tradition. The house features a wide front verandah with sturdy tapered columns, exposed rafter ends, and multi-paned windows.
