Captain Nash came to Kamloops in the 1890s after serving in the North-West Rebellion of 1885. His beautiful house was built in 1910 along the edge of a deep gully. The style of the house suits a military man. It is a colonial bungalow with a long, low verandah similar to the type built by British officers in India. In Kamloops, the house was built of wood with cedar shingle siding.
